Great book for beginners, but the information is dated. I found that it's was more of a beginner's guide, instead of being a cookbook as mentioned in its title. This book was not what I expected: it does not provide solutions to common problems. It is mostly a walk-through of FL Studio's interface.

I believe this book could be useful to beginners who have little experience with FL. (Though the screenshots are a bit dated and, for example, the OFS knob has moved.)

Things I expected to learn but DID NOT:

- how to do side-chaining
- how to place instruments in the stereo space
- how to design my own instruments
- how to replicate an iconic sound using effects

Im looking for the easiest way to get into making beats. I'm thinking hip hop or rap because I already have a few ideas in my head. Im not experienced though... What do you recommend at a lower price point that will get me going? Any feedback will be apreciated... What is Mixing and Mastering, why it is done, what is eq, compressors and effects such as reverbs, delays etc, every single thing is explained in a systematic manner.
Almost every term was familiar to me as Im in the music business since 4 years, but even if you are a newbie, you can catch up easily as this book has very easy-to-go language, you can understand them easily and then apply them accordingly.
How to build up your song, Sampling, Using virtual instruments, filters, automation, rewiring, copyrighting your music are some other topics discussed briefly.

My final verdict is that if you go through this e-book sincerely, you'll be a master of FL Studio. I'll recommend this for sure. Im a Logic Pro user, but now I can make music using FL Studio too, which is amazingly very good. I never thought that this e-book will give me so much knowledge and rest is my dedication and experience, that I have and that I'll have.\m/

An awesome book for any person using flstudio. Whether your just a beginner or an experienced user, this book will help you take your music productions to the next level. Everything to do with flstudio is covered from setting up your computer, to loading sounds, to recording live instruments and vocals, to transferring your hit songs to mp3,wav,cd etc
A must have for all fl studio users and producers of all levels.

As someone with a small amount of music knowledge, but fairly high computer literacy, music creation didn't quite 'click' for me until I found DAWs. Namely FL Studio. However, trying to trudge through it myself was a fairly daunting task given my ignorance of musical terms and basic MIDI operation. When I found Shaun Friedman and his FL Studio Cookbook, I felt relief. Here was the solution for someone like me.
